Bike Forums - Looking for a good walkable shoe
WEBOct 12, 2010 · Just get the MTB shoes...the bike won't care and the pedals don't know the difference. I have both road shoes and MTB shoes and almost always ride with the MTB shoes on my road bike. I like having the ability to walk and know that I won't slip on the pavement when I come to a stop sign.

WEBSep 21, 2008 · Sidi mountain bike shoes are great for walking in dirt, but not so good for walking on pavement. The stiff soles and hard plastic lugs make them kind of slippery, especially on wet or very smooth surfaces. My advice is to visit a local bike shop and try on a bunch of shoes. The most important feature if fit anyway.

Bike Forums - Most walkable pedal/cleat combination
WEBAug 19, 2005 · I use these shoes, but with the spd comp. pedals. I have the same pedals on all three bikes, along with the same cleats on all of my different shoes. The shoes are super stiff, yet comfortable for walking. Heck, I forget I have them on all the time. I got home from my commute last night and realized I had mowed the lawn while wearing them.

WEBApr 23, 2006 · Cleats- don't care as I don't have to walk far. Current shoes are cannondales mtb style. Current is platform on one side and cleats on other, so I don't care. Cost- just reasonable, not looking for $200+/pedals. Not weight winnie, but want something good and durable. Later hope to transfer pedals to tri bike. For now it's just for a touring bike.
