I don't know where to start but I know I wanna be scene. I unfortunately don't have any scene clothes or accessories. I keep seeing people get angry at others for wearing 'scenecore' clothing but I think all subcategories of scene are cool. I also don't like skinny jeans so I would like some scene-ish alternatives.
Except scene isn’t a music based subculture like goth or emo. The fashion came before the music did for scene kids. Back in ye old days the “scenester” was a synonym for “poser” because the scene subculture was based around fashion instead of music. Overtime the scene subculture has adopted different music genres but at its core it’s a fashion based subculture. Reply reply ...
Is the correct idiomatic usage "and scene" or "end scene" to compliment a particularly poignant conversation/moment? I contest that the correct usage is "end scene" as I have seen this used in scripts before. "And cut" is used by directors, "end scene" is used by scriptwriters.
Out of context, the scene seems completely insane and so horrific an idea to include in a book! However, when you have read through the entire story and got to that point, it doesn't seem wrong in any way.
Scene isn't a music genre in itself, it is just short for "the music scene" in general so scene kids listen to pretty much everything. So yeah, your playlists are "scene" in a technical sense. I am a emo scene kid veteran, a sceneior citizen if you will. Since 2009, and I have TONS of artists to suggest for you all.
Thank you for pointing all this out. I was starting to feel like maybe I was being immature about this scene but the scene with Eddie (and King’s preoccupation with writing female characters a certain way) just solidifies my opinion that it was all so unnecessary.
Hi! I saw a lot of people asking for sources on scene fashion, and basically a deep dive into the subculture so I thought I’d make a master list of sorts for resources on fashion, culture, music, and phenomena that happened in the scene years.
Scene kids are social, silly and lives of the party, so you should definitely look around at your school and take stock of other scene kids, if any go. There might even be secret scene kids who listen to the music, go to shows, and live the life but don't even look that way at school!
