It's very hard to catch a taxi on the street. The best way to get a taxi quickly is to call the central taxi number: +39 055 4242 and they will send a taxi to you quickly!

Timetables and other service information about day buses, night buses, electric buses and trams can be found on the ATAF website. Much of it is in English, but the Italian version contains the more up-to-date transport network map. Search for Firenze bus map I believe you can buy bus tickets at local shops, like Tabacchi
