Hi, for the Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock in Prague, if I just enter the old town hall to take a look and see the mechanism behind the clock by on our own, not joined the guided tour, do I need to pay any fee? can I do that on our own, not joining the tour if I don't see the basement? thanks.

You can see the clock action from the outside without any payment, but we also bought tickets to go up the tower and enjoy the nice view of the square and the city.

It’s definitely worth the walk up via the Town Hall chambers, which are full of interest in their own right. 150 Czech koruna is the price. It’s not to be missed, view from the top is amazing.

Yes I’ve just come back from Prague. To the left of the clock is a door go through and either take the lift or stairs to the third floor. There you can pay for your admission to the viewing point. You can also pay for a lift pass up to the viewing point at an extra cost. Beware this lift is manned so no ticket no lift. Otherwise you will walk to it. You walk up slopes until you reach a spiral stair case . It’s not very exhaustive

Prague is always busy! I don’t think the tourist season ever stops but you should still go - it’s really beautiful ... and if you like classical music you’ll find lots of great concerts.
May I know if I buy a mobile ticket, can I join the guided tour for free? Can I book the guided tour online by email first? Is there any restriction on the time of the climb to the tower and the guided tour? Do they need to be, say, within two hours?

Hi, I’m not sure about the online ticket, but when you arrive go to the desk upstairs (next to the entrance to the town hall), you can book the time slots for the guided tour for the basement and town hall tour from that desk. I would recommend booking the time slots for this before going to visit the clock tower. When we went the ticket lasted all day for all 3 features, but you can only do each one once. We had to go back after a few hours wait for the basement tour as you are not allowed to do this by yourself and the slots were booked. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
