There are trains that run from London to Yeovil, which is the nearest station, or Castle Cary is another further away option. There is a bus service from Yeovil to Yeovilton but only a limited service, which timetables can be found online. Staying locally there are pubs with rooms such as The Red Lion Babcary or The Kingston Inn at Kingston. Taxis can be booked in advance should you want to travel from these pubs, as rural bus services are basically non existent I think around here in small rural villages.
