CNN is tracking the LA protests against ICE and the Trump administration and those that have spread across the US this week.

John Oliver, like his fellow late-night hosts before him, is ringing the alarm on president Donald Trump’s authoritarianism. The Last Week Tonight host wasted no time getting down to brass tacks, addressing the Los Angeles protests that were spurred by the White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller-led escalation of ICE raids,

The president deployed 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in response to anti-ICE protests.

The protest coincides with the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary celebration and parade, which is also President Donald Trump's birthday and Flag Day.
