Washington: The grand military parade that President Donald Trump had been wanting for years barrelled down Constitution Avenue on Saturday with tanks, troops and a 21-gun salute, playing out against a counterpoint of protests around the country by those who decried the US leader as a dictator and would-be king.

Its media operation is now being handled by Campaign Nucleus, a company founded in 2022 by Brad Parscale, who worked for all three of Trump’s presidential campaigns.

Sen. Adam Schiff of California, pompous progressive extraordinaire, called the planned event a “ dictator-style military parade ,” putting Trump on par with global bad guys like Russia’s Vladimir Putin, North Korea’s late Kim Jong Il and China’s Xi Jinping.
