Punjab Kings strategically utilized their substantial budget in the IPL 2025 auction, acquiring star players like Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Arshdeep Singh for record sums. They also cleverly re-signed Glenn Maxwell and added the versatile Marcus Stoinis.

Shreyas Iyer became the second most expensive player in IPL auction history as PBKS bought Rs 26.75 crore. He is expected to become the captain of the side, having led KKR to their third IPL title in 2024.
