The Atlanta Braves could soon lose star pitcher Max Fried in free agency, but a Houston Astros standout could help soften the blow.

Max Fried’s free agency hasn’t developed much beyond interested parties, of which there are expected to be more than half of a dozen clubs inquiring about the Braves southpaw.

The Atlanta Braves sadly could lose a star this winter. All-Star starting pitcher Max Fried is available in free agency and there clearly will be a bidding war for his services. The price is going to be high and clear $100 million and possibly even $150 million.

Perhaps there is still hope that Max Fried will stick around after all. In what sounds like a bold prediction, based on the current landscape, Forbes’ Bernie Pleskoff predicts that he will stay with the Atlanta Braves.
