Bangladesh on Tuesday reacted to the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das on Tuesday. Reacting to India's statement on the matter, Bangladesh said that the monk's arrest had "been misconstrued by certain quarters". It further said that India's statement was "unfounded" and stood "contrary to the spirit of friendship".

The interim government has dubbed as ‘baseless’ the Indian foreign ministry’s statement expressing ‘deep concerns’ over the arrest and denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das, a spokesperson of the Sammilita Sanatan Jagaran Jote, or United Sanatan Awakening Alliance.
