Barbra Banda scored in the 37th minute as Orlando beat Washington for the team’s first National Women’s Soccer League championship.

In a season full of worthy contenders, it was the league leader Orlando Pride who took home the top prize. Forward Barbra Banda, who has led the team for much of the season, scored the game’s lone goal.

The Orlando Pride and Washington Spirit battled it out in front of an announced sellout crowd in Kansas City. As was the case throughout the postseason, the top seed took care of business. The Orlando Pride won their first NWSL championship thanks to Barbra Banda’s first-half goal.
