IVINS, Utah — Stephan Jaeger made up for a three-putt from 10 feet by chipping in for birdie on consecutive holes Friday for an 8-under 63 that gave him a one-shot lead before the second round was suspended by darkness at the inaugural Black Desert Championship.

The 2024 Black Desert Championship is being held at the brand new Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, in the southwest corner of the state. It’s the first PGA Tour event in the Beehive State since September of 1963.

As stats guru and Twenty First Group's head of content Justin Ray pointed out, four golfers managed to hit every fairway and every green in regulation in the first round. That's a perfect 14 of 14 and 18 of 18, if you're keeping score at home. In contrast, according to Ray, this statistical feat hadn't happened once on tour all season.
