Friends described Wilson as a “comedic genius” constantly pulling pranks on other members of the band, but also as someone who was all business in the classroom and on game days.

The Southern University community gathered on campus Wednesday evening to honor the memory of Caleb Wilson, a student who died last week.

Caleb Wilson’s passion for music shone through Wednesday (March 5), as mourners gathered for a vigil at Pilgrim Baptist Church. The Southern University student and trumpet player was killed Feb. 27 in an alleged fraternity hazing incident in Baton Rouge.
