Texas-based utility provider CenterPoint Energy has said it will have nearly 3,500 distribution line workers on standby around Houston to deal with any power outages caused by Tropical Storm Francine which is due to lash southeastern parts of the state from Tuesday evening.

CenterPoint Energy said it would have almost 3,500 distribution line workers positioned near Houston and ready to restore power should outages occur following Tropical Storm Francine, which could bring damaging winds and heavy rainfall to Southeast Texas Tuesday night and Wednesday.

CenterPoint energy Texas-based Natural gas personnel are ready to be deployed to Louisiana and Mississippi to support any natural gas restoration work.

CenterPoint Energy provided an update on the company’s preparation efforts in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi ahead of Tropical Storm Francine.

CenterPoint Energy representatives assured customers that improvements have been made since Hurricane Beryl as the Gulf Coast braces for Francine.
