A House Democrat from Rhode Island said Friday that he was targeted in a string of bomb threats against lawmakers and public officials around Thanksgiving. Why it matters: The development comes the same week that nearly the entire Connecticut congressional delegation and multiple Trump appointees were targeted with similar threats.

Reps. Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, John Larson, Jahana Hayes and Rosa DeLauro — reported being the subject of such threats. Police who responded said they found no evidence of explosives on the lawmakers’ properties.
