Leicester City manager Steve Cooper did not hold back in his criticism of Premier League officiating following his side’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca insists he has absolute confidence in Premier League referees, despite the David Coote scandal that has dominated the international break. The Blues travel to Maresca’s former club Leicester on Saturday lunchtime in what will be the first Premier League game since video emerged of Coote’s alleged foul-mouthed attack on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

He has been a Premier League referee since 2018. Before that, he was a referee in the Championship for eight years, as captured by the Mirror.Coote had a number of run-ins with Klopp. He was the VAR when Martin Odegaard handled the ball during Liverpool's game against Arsenal in December last year.
