It’s only right that friends and family of Baltimore native Derik Queen gathered Wednesday night for the NBA draft over bushels of crabs.

The former Montverde Academy star, who began is high school career at St. Frances Academy, becomes the 17th BCL-affiliated player to be selected in the NBA Draft.

Baltimore native Derik Queen, who starred as a freshman at the University of Maryland, is headed to the New Orleans Pelicans after he was selected 13th overall in the NBA Draft on Wednesday. Queen was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. However, a proposed trade will send him to New Orleans.
