The Federal Aviation Administration has banned U.S. flights to Haiti for 30 days in the wake of Monday's gunfire incidents, according to a Notice to Air Mission issued Tuesday.

The Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday it will bar U.S. airlines from operating in Haiti for 30 days after two commercial jetliners were struck by gunfire on Monday.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has banned US airlines from flying to Haiti for 30 days following an incident where a Spirit Airlines flight was hit by gunfire. The violence coincides with political upheaval in Haiti as the new prime minister assumes office.
