Medical students who survived when an Air India plane crashed into their hostel in Ahmedabad say their first reaction was to help treat the injured.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was seated in emergency row 11A when he escaped through the nearby emergency exit, according to The New York Times. Ramesh was seen stumbling to an ambulance near the crash site and telling the crowd that he came "from inside" the plane.

The Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad has taken its toll on the city's business community, but the city well-known for its enterprise is emerging stronger.
