Former Rudder standout Dobbins has ACL surgery
HOUSTON — Former Rudder standout Hunter Dobbins, who had helped the Boston Red Sox early this season with some solid starting pitching, had surgery to repair a torn right ACL on Tuesday. The right-hander was injured July 11 in the second inning against Tampa Bay after landing awkwardly when making a play while covering first base.
Hunter Dobbins will face the Yankees for the second time in Game 2 as they face off at Fenway Park. As for Dobbins’ dad being with the Yankees, there’s been no evidence of his claim.
Hunter Dobbins made his major league debut Sunday for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Two days later, the 25-year-old was still on Cloud Nine back in Worcester.
