Hyundai is recalling over 145,000 Ioniq and Genesis vehicles due to a 12-volt battery charging issue that could cause the EVs to lose drive power and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says the cause is the vehicles' Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU),

Hyundai’s recall encompasses over 145,000 cars, including some IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 EVs along with Genesis GV60, Genesis GV70 and Genesis G80 models.

Hyundai introduced its streamlined Ioniq 9 today at an offsite event associated with the Los Angeles Auto Show. It shares a platform with the Kia EV9 and other Hyundai/Kia/Genesis EVs, and is the latest in an emerging electric three-row SUV segment.

The new seven-seater hits US dealers in early 2025, a welcome addition to the small but fast-growing market of full-size EVs.
