The PGA Tour announced a seismic shift in its leadership structure Tuesday, naming NFL veteran Brian Rolapp as chief executive officer of both the tour and PGA Tour Enterprises. The move comes with an unusual twist: Commissioner Jay Monahan will remain in his role through the end of 2026,

The fourth commissioner in PGA Tour history, Monahan will be remembered for being in charge during the advent of the rival LIV Golf league, which backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, poached some of the biggest stars in the game like Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Jay Monahan, the longtime commissioner of the PGA, will step down from his post at the end of 2026. His pending departure was announced alongside the golf circuit’s official hiring of former NFL chief business and media officer Brian Rolapp as its first CEO.
