The Ducks have traded goalie John Gibson to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for goalie Petr Mrázek, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-rounder, both teams confirmed on Saturday. For the second time in less than a year, the Ducks dealt away their longest-tenured player after sending Cam Fowler to the St. Louis Blues in December.

The Red Wings added some stability to their crease while the Ducks finally moved on from their former franchise goalie.

The Detroit Red Wings hope they shored up their goaltending by acquiring John Gibson Saturday from the Anaheim Ducks for goalie Petr Mrazek and a pair of draft picks. Gibson, 31, has two years remaining on his contract at a $6.4 million average annual value.
