Meta’s latest Instagram update lets U.S. users share their real-time location with friends, but privacy concerns are already surfacing.

One of Instagram's newest features is a map that shows user locations. Here's how to use it, including how to turn it off.

Go to the Instagram map in your DM inbox. Tap the icon to open the map view. Select the Settings icon, which will prompt you to “Turn on Location Services.” Once in your phone’s Settings app, choose “Never” to stop sharing your location.
