A Louisville Metro Police Department officer who was shot during the 2020 protests is suing the department on issues of race, ethnicity and disability, according to court documents.

According to court records, Desroches claims he was shot alongside Major Aubrey Gregory on Sept. 23, 2020, by Larynzo Johnson "because LMPD officers killed Breonna Taylor." Desroches said he was shot in the abdomen where the bullet traveled through his hip and close to his spine,

Louisville Metro Police Officer Robinson Desroches has filed a lawsuit claiming he was discriminated against after expressing his belief that the department lied to the public about Taylor’s death.
