A narrow escape from a fatal accident that killed five MBBS students in Alappuzha. A lucky phone call saved one friend`s life.

A group of first-year MBBS students of Government T D Medical College, Alappuzha, were heading towards a movie theatre on Monday night when the accident took place.

In Alappuzha's Kalarcode, the CCTV footage of the accident revealed that the car, traveling at high speed on a rainy night, lost control and collided with the bus before being crushed beneath it.

Five youths, reportedly MBBS students, were killed in a collision with a KSRTC bus near Kalarcode on Monday night. Seven were in the car, and the impact destroyed it completely.

The police said the accident took place near Kalarcode. However, the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

The car, attempting to overtake another vehicle, braked, skidded, and collided with an oncoming bus, killing five MBBS students.

Due to the impact of the collision, the car was completely damaged and the occupants inside were taken out after breaking open the vehicle, police sources said.

The victims of the tragic accident were identified as Mohammed, Muhasin, Ibrahim, Devanand, and Shreedeep. The crash occurred after 9 p.m. when their Tavera car, reportedly speeding, lost control and collided with a KSRTC bus traveling from Guruvayur to Kayamkulam.
