DiFusco was a convicted felon in Connecticut for firearms offenses, Chitwood said. The incident began Thursday morning at Kingston Shores Condominiums at 5500 Ocean Shore Blvd. It was reported that DiFusco had shot at a deputy's vehicle from inside his condominium and also targeted neighboring units.

A man is dead following an hours long SWAT standoff in Ormond-By-The-Sea. Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said the suspect, Joseph DiFusco, was “armed for Armageddon.” Chitwood said Difusco fired hundreds of rounds into people’s condos and at deputies and their vehicles.
