Freezing temperatures and snowfall has led to travel disruption in some parts of Northern Ireland. Translink has warned of disruption to services on rural routes such as Ballymena, Ballyclare, Larne, Magherafelt, Cookstown, Newry and Lisburn.

Weather warnings for snow and ice have been issued for Northern Ireland and began at 18:00 GMT on Tuesday and set to end at 10:00 on Wednesday. Wintry showers are expected to develop on Tuesday evening and continue overnight into Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for the Met Office explained: "Showers are expected to become more frequent during the afternoon and evening, feeding south across Northern Ireland and turning to snow above 150m. Some places could see 2-5cm of fresh snow, with a further 10cm over mountain tops.
