The Princess of Wales has written a poignant letter to guests attending her fourth carol service amid her own cancer recovery

In recent months, Kate Middleton has understandably been absent from the spotlight...for the most part. We did, of course, get her gorgeous Remembrance Day appearance and we got word of a hush-hush meeting at Windsor Castle.

Kate has written a letter for the 1,600 Westminster Abbey carol goers, including members of the royal family, telling them "Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times".

“Addiction is not a choice. It is a serious mental health condition that could affect any one of us,” the Princess of Wales, a vocal mental health advocate, continued in her statement. “By acting with humility and compassion we can all make a difference and support those who are suffering.”

The Princess of Wales has sent an emotional Christmas message calling for "love, not fear" ahead of her carol concert next week. Catherine says the Christmas story is about "the importance of giving and receiving empathy" and showing "how much we need each other in spite of our differences".

Princess Kate has written a letter to each of her guests thanking them for all they have done to provide comfort and hope to those who need it the most.
