Another massive winter storm is forecast to pummel the southern and eastern U.S., with impacts from Texas to the Carolinas.

Parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas began to see snowfall on Thursday as Southern states stretching to the Carolinas brace for the storm to reach them on Friday.

A low-pressure system is moving across the country, delivering rain, snow, and ice to much of the southeast. This same system will be making its way along the east coast early this weekend, bringing a chance for accumulating snow to the tri-state.

A powerful winter storm that unleashed heavy snowfall and coated roads with ice across much of Texas and Oklahoma has pushed into the South, leading governors to declare states of emergency and prompting widespread school closures.

Storm Cora is sweeping into the Southeast Friday, delivering a mess of snow and ice from Arkansas and Tennessee to the Carolinas and Virginia, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia and Nashville. Travel will be dangerous if not impossible in some areas.
