An EF-2 tornado touched down in New Richmond, Wisconsin during Thursday evening's severe storms, the National Weather Service says. There were more than a dozen tornado warnings and multiple observed tornadoes across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Tornadoes were reported in Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Thursday as storms pushed east. There was a report of an observed tornado in the New Richmond area and near Roberts around 3:30 p.m. There was also a report of a tornado near Spring Hill,

A potent cluster of thunderstorms that ripped down trees and flooded roads in parts of the region may have spawned a tornado in South Jersey on Friday afternoon. And the National Weather Service has issued another severe thunderstorm watch for for the entire region in effect until 11:59 p.

Hail, damaging winds and a risk of tornadoes could make an appearance during two rounds of thunderstorms in Massachusetts on Saturday.

The strong tornado threat Thursday includes Chicago, Milwaukee and a big chunk of central Wisconsin. Evansville, Indiana, is at the heart of Friday’s tornado threat.

A wide swath of the Midwest and Plains states is under a tornado watch and severe weather conditions are forecast to persist into next week, the National Weather service said Thursday.
