A ban on transgender students from kindergarten through college using multiperson bathrooms that fit their gender identities has become law in Ohio.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) signed a bill Wednesday that requires transgender students from kindergarten through college to use a bathroom that corresponds to their sex assigned at birth, although it has no enforcement mechanism.

The new law will require K-12 and college students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that match their sex assigned at birth.
