Volkswagen is recalling 60,490 ID.4 and Audi Q4 EVs in the U.S. due to a problem with the transmission gear selection display. Some of the SUVs may not indicate to drivers that the vehicle is still in neutral. If it’s stopped on slanted ground, the vehicle could move forwards or backwards unexpectedly.

The Volkswagen Group is recalling a couple of its all-electric models to correct a potentially serious safety issue. The Audi Q4 E-Tron utility vehicle and more avant-garde Q4 E-Tron Sportback as well as the VW ID.

Over 60,000 Volkswagen and Audi electric vehicles have been recalled for a faulty gear display that could increase the chance of the vehicle rolling away, according to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall of more than 60,000 Volkswagens and Audis after it was found that the instrument panel may not display what gear the vehicle is in.
