The Hockey Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2025, which includes first-year eligible players Zdeno Chara, a former captain of the Boston Bruins, Joe Thornton, Duncan Keith, and the end of a lengthy wait for former NHL star forward Alexander Mogilny.

The Hockey Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2025 Tuesday, with Zdeno Chara and Joe Thornton among the NHL stars to be inducted.

Chara, who was born in Trencin, Slovakia, when it was still part of Czechoslovakia, arrived in North America as a gangly defenseman, an awkward skater, someone who former NHL defenseman Andrew Ference looked at and said had “legitimately no shot” when he first saw him as a 19-year-old.
