ATLANTIC CITY — Local beach residents and lifeguards say beaches were packed July 4, but on Wednesday, they were less crowded as tourists headed home from the long weekend.

Fireworks kick off Memorial Day Weekend at the beach and Boardwalk at 10 p.m. May 24 in front of the Tropicana Atlantic City.
