Auburn baseball needed a late rally to earn a midweek win over an in-state foe for the second straight day. After trailing North Alabama, 2-1, through one inning, Auburn scored five runs over the final four innings to secure a 6-2 win over the visiting Lions on Wednesday at Plainsman Park in Auburn.

Auburn baseball defeated North Alabama 6-2 after overcoming an early two-run deficit. Freshman Andreas Alvarez struck out nine in his first career start, while Auburn’s bullpen and late offense secured the win.

Alvarez’s first three pitches were the only bad pitches he made all night giving up a single and then a bomb to give the Lions a two-run lead.
