Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it currently has "no plans" for a PS5 Pro-specific update. Many fans of the open world RPG have questioned the possibility, but the studio has only just made its stance clear via a reply on X.

Cyberpunk 2077 currently offers two modes on the PS5: a ray tracing mode locked at 30fps and a performance mode targeting 60fps. The ray tracing mode only includes ray-traced shadows, while the game's PC version includes ray-traced shadows, reflections, ambient occlusion, direct illumination, and even path tracing.

While a heap of games have been enhanced for Sony’s mid-generation refresh console at launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is not among them and might not ever be. “We currently have no plans for PS5 Pro patch,” the game’s X account tweeted November 20 in response to one player salivating over the prospect of seeing Night City lit up with more graphical bells and whistles.

Developer CD Projekt Red says it currently has no plans to deliver a PS5 Pro Enhanced patch or update for the console version of Cyberpunk 2077.

A lot of big games are getting patches to take advantage of the PS5 Pro's power, but CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 is not among them. The Polish developer confirmed this on social media in response to a question from a fan.

CD Projekt RED has revealed on X that the studio currently has no plans to release a Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro patch, despite many major third-party games taking advantage of Sony’s high-end console.
