Snow fell early Saturday morning and brough 2-4 inches across western Massachusetts before mid-morning. We’re on our way to another 1-2 inches in western Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts this afternoon.
Expect cloudy skies overnight with a few evening flurries, then a little light snow after midnight that may coat the ground in spots. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s with just a light southerly breeze overnight.
NEW YEARS DAY: FIRST ALERT. Snow likely for the first half of the day with broken snow showers into the afternoon. Highs in the 20s and low 30s. NW wind will pick up during the afternoon with gusts 30-35 mph. Areas of blowing snow possible.
Slick spots on roads are possible Thursday morning. While lowland impacts look limited, the mountains will continue to see significant snow. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 4 p.m. Thursday, with 2 to 4 feet of additional snow likely in the Cascades and at least another foot expected at the passes.
