Facebook today rolled out Poke, a mobile app that re-imagines one of the first and most popular features of the social network as a messaging platform where a user can send a friend a quick message.

Facebook has pulled the plug on its Poke and Camera apps. The Camera app was first launched on the Apple App Store in May 2012, followed by the Poke app which arrived in December of the same year.
