Six Flags announced it's making cuts in its portfolio and closing a park and adjoining water rides. Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Bowie, Maryland, will welcome thrill seekers for the last time this year after the operator announced plans to close the amusement parks after the 2025 season.

The nearly 500-acre site that houses Six Flags and the Hurricane Harbor water park will be sold for redevelopment. The company cited its long-term business outlook in the decision
