There's a row about whether the new Sony A1 II is actually the first camera with object recognition – not least from Fujifilm owners – but my drone could do this years ago!

Sony has just unveiled its newest camera, designed to occupy that section of the market. Dubbed the Sony A1 II, this camera follows on from the original Sony A1, unveiled almost four years ago.

The A1 II inherits the 3.2-inch, 2095K dot resolution, 4-axis LCD screen from the A7R V and the A1I which is unique to Sony. It can be flipped out to the side, rotated to the front, folded against the back of the camera to help protect it, and set to many other positions in-between.

While flagship mobile devices are getting better and better when it comes to cameras, there are still limits that they can’t reach. The new Sony Alpha 1 II is here to remind us why the professional camera segment is still very much alive.
