Of the six major parties in the fray in these Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) had contested the greatest number of seats in Mumbai, 22.

Kalidas Kolambkar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured the Wadala assembly seat in a first win for the party.

Much like its performance across major regions in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti did well in the Mumbai and suburban regions as well, leading in 26 seats. The MVA could only manage the lead in 11 seats.

This year too, Ganesh Naik who fought for the seat from BJP, won the seat with a comfortable vote share of 1.44 lakh with a lead of 91,880 from the rebel candidate of Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Vijay Chougule.

The Vandre West seat is a political hotspot, with BJP's Ashish Shelar sought re-election against Congress’ Asif Zakaria.
