The Governor’s Cup is headed back to Louisville after a forgettable day for Kentucky football QB Cutter Boley and Mark Stoops' Kentucky Wildcats team.

The Kentucky Wildcats (4-8) ended their season with a 41-14 loss in the Governor’s Cup rivalry game to the Louisville Cardinals (8-4). The loss end UK’s five-game winning streak in this series.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Kentucky football’s five year winning run against its rivals from the west is over. The Wildcats were never in reach of the lead during a 41-14 thumping at Kroger Field on Saturday at the hands of Louisville.

The Cardinals (8-4, 5-3 ACC) snap a five-game losing streak in the rivalry, winning for the first time since 2017. It had been their longest losing streak to the Wildcats (4-8, 1-7 SEC) since the rivalry was renewed in 1994.

Kentucky Football ends the 2024 season, losing the always highly-anticipated Governor’s Cup battle for the first time since 2017.
