The BCCI has formally sent a letter to the International Cricket Council, refusing to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Pakistan government reportedly has told the PCB that an India vs Pakistan clash cannot take place outside Pakistan, adding that India have no moral or legal grounds to refuse to play the Champions Trophy in the country.

All eyes are now on Pakistan government’s decision as India refused to travel to their neighbours for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

"The PCB has received an email from the ICC, stating that the BCCI has informed them that their team will not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB has forwarded that email to the Government of Pakistan for their advice and guidance," a PCB spokesperson told Hindustan Times.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of India's decision to not to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The ICC has not relayed the message to the PCB.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has delayed finalizing the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy due to India’s refusal to participate in the tournament in Pakistan. India’s stance against playing in Pakistan has led to ongoing discussions between the ICC and its member nations, causing a postponement of the scheduled event announcement.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Sunday that India had informed the International Cricket Council about its unwillingness to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled in February-March next year.

The PCB is seeking advice from the Pakistan government on how to proceed with its hosting of the Champions Trophy, after the BCCI made clear it will not send India to Pakistan for the tournament in February.
