Jharkhand’s JMM, led by Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren, is on track for a second consecutive term as part of the INDIA bloc. Kalpana entered politics earlier this year after Hemant Soren faced legal challenges.

Four members of the Hemant Soren family contested the Jharkhand assembly election 2024. They are Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, his younger brother Basant Soren and his daughter-in-law Sita Soren.

Counting of votes began at 8 am. According to EC trends, INDIA bloc is leading in 50 seats -- JMM 30, Congress 14 and allies six -- and NDA in 30 till noon
