In the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, a tragic event occurred in which transgender model, actress, and influencer Kesaria Abramidze was brutally murdered, reports the Daily Mail. The 37-year-old Abramidze was fatally stabbed just after the Georgian parliament passed an anti-LGBT law.

Though the reasons behind the murder of Abramidze are yet to be figured out, Georgian civil societies have started raising their voices against it, connecting it with state campaigns against minorities in the country.

A well-known Georgian transgender woman was stabbed to death in her apartment on Wednesday, authorities said, in a “premeditated” attack that came amid criticism of a government crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights.
