Unlike the more recent Garden Warfare series of shooters, Plants vs. Zombies 3 goes back to the series' roots and is another tower-defense game. Players must protect Neighborville from encroaching zombies, setting up the usual sorts of garden-based traps and defenses with returning favorite plants alongside new ones.

EA and PopCap have announced that they're taking Plants vs. Zombies 3 offline in order to put a "major overhaul" into effect.

EA has pulled Plants vs. Zombies 3 offline for what it called a “major overhaul” as it works to once again improve the game before a worldwide launch. In a blog post, EA said in-app purchases are no longer available and the game is no longer available to download.
