Michigan members of the U.S. House split along party lines over the sweeping legislation, with Republicans saying it keeps promises despite criticism.

A day before President Donald Trump’s July 4 deadline, House Republicans narrowly approved the president’s top legislative priority, the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” with a 218-214 vote. Michigan’s 13 U.S. House members all voted along party lines, with seven Republican yes votes and six Democrats voting no.
