OKLAHOMA CITY — Former Santa Clara Broncos great Jalen Williams had a career playoff-high 40 points, MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31, and the Oklahoma City Thunder moved one win from a title by beating the Indiana Pacers 120-109 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night.

During its 111-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Friday in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Oklahoma City became the highest-scoring team in league history, eclipsing a record the Golden State Warriors held for six years.

The Thunder took a five-point lead into the fourth quarter when Jalen Williams drained a 3-pointer with two seconds on the clock to give them a 89-84 lead. However, the Pacers kept bouncing back and took the win thanks to a massive game from Bennedict Mathurin.

No team in NBA history has scored more points in a season than the Thunder. That gave the Thunder 12,162 for the season, breaking the mark of 12,161 scored by the Golden State Warriors in 104 games during the 2018-19 season.

After apparently listening to recent fan complaints, ABC is making a major change to its broadcast for Game 5 of the NBA Finals Monday night. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, ABC will air the starting lineup introductions for the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder before tonight's game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are projected to select this intriguing international prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft
