Senior AAP leader Atishi was administered oath as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Saturday

New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister in the Delhi government Atishi Singh on Saturday, 21 September 2024 took oath as the 8th Chief Minister of Delhi following the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. Atishi was administered oath by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena in a low-key event.

In her first address after taking the oath, Atishi urged people of Delhi to re-elect her predecessor to the top office

Along with her, five other ministers of AAP were sworn in and will be part of Delhi’s cabinet. These include Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat

AAP leader Atishi took oath as the chief minister of Delhi and is the third woman to hold the post. She is also the youngest holder of the office.

Atishi held 13 major portfolios in the Cabinet headed by outgoing CM Arvind Kejriwal, including finance, revenue, PWD and education.

Atishi Marlena took oath as Delhi's chief minister, becoming the youngest to hold this position. With assembly elections approaching in February next year, her administration aims to expedite key policies and welfare schemes.
